One of Vavrina's Nebula Series, painted from actual pictures taken by the Hubble Spacecraft.

Breaking the elements down to their geometric form, Vavrina captures the essence of sailing into the sunset. Vavrina's blurry edges of the trees, figures and buidings, gives a foggy, late-evening look to this painting. Vavrina's paint drips depict looking through a rain-streaked window at the city lights.
To view more Abstract Landscapes, see link at bottom of page. Vavrina's abstraction of the color and trees gives an other-wordly effect to this bright painting. Even through Vavrina's distortion of shape and color, you can still see the flowers. Vavrina's Under-the-Sea series includes this bright painting.
For more in this series, see link at bottom of page for Outer Space (this includes Under-the-Sea). Vavrina's Abstract Landscape series (see link below) started with this bright, colorful setting. Vavrina's shimmering, silhouette's of the figures give them a life of their own. Is it a tree or flower? Only Vavrina knows for sure.
For more Abstract Landscapes, see our link below. Another Vavrina "Boys" series.
At bottom of page, see Large Paintings link for more over-sized paintings. This charcoal rendition of an old, gnarled, southern oak tree came about after Vavrina received a photo taken by a friend while driving around town. Vavrina's different floating images reminds us of our convoluted dreaming. One of Vavrina's Outer Space series.
For more, see link at bottom of page. The cartoonistic, "Boys" series depicts people in different social settings.
To view more over-sized paintings, see our Large Painting link at bottom of page. Vavrina's swirls of color loosely represents a moonlit night scene. Broad palette-knife strokes blur the edges of these figures that come to fruition when seen at a distance. Vavrina's Nebula series includes this favorite.
The Outer Space link at bottom of page includes more in this series. Vavrina's studies of all the master painters allows him to combine Matisse, Cezanne
and Derain in this colorful rendition.
