Just What is a Giclée Canvas Print?

A giclée (zhee-CLAY) is a high-resolution ink-jet print. The French word Giclée means "to spray".
Giclée canvas prints are better than lithographs because the colors are brighter and last longer,
and are imprinted on canvas.  A digital image is taken of the original painting,
down-loaded into the computer, then color matched to the original.
A six color process, instead of the traditional four color is used. Vavrina proofs the color and image
before the final printing. Enhancement brush strokes may be added to the Giclée print if needed.
 Owning original Vavrina paintings will steadily increase their value. Giclée canvas prints will be in limited editions,
to help insure the originals' value, and will therefore increase the print value over time also.

Because our Giclée prints are on canvas instead of paper,
they are not framed under glass. A Giclée canvas print will resemble an original because
the digital image shows the brushstrokes of the original painting.
