Vavrina and his wife Mary took a gondola ride when they visited Venice on their world trip. Vavrina outdid himself with this beautiful painting of an Australian falls located in the Palima Range.
This acrylic on canvas is painted all around the sides for a continuous view. No frame in needed. This small, Vavrina abstract seascape painting combines his love of sailing
and bold, dramatic landscape background. This first painting in Vavrina's "Waterfalls of the World" series,
quickly captured the heart of it's admirer. Vavrina's use of transluscent, fluorescent acrylic colors, on this modern seascape, gives a deep glow to this painting. Vavrina captured the power and beauty of this African scene on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Vavrina's many visits to old villages gave him the ides for this tranquil painting. Vavrina's new waterfall series began with this imaginative scene of a European village.
For his Waterfalls of the World series check out the What's New Page. Vavrina's acrylic rendition of this beautiful waterfall, on the border of Argentina and Brazil,
doesn't need framing because of the white border. Leaving port, off into the sunrise for a day on the sea. Vavrina captured the monumental beauty of the highest waterfall in the world, located in Venezuela. Vavrina's many world trips inspired this painting. Vavrina depicts the bright blue waters of the Mediterranean and the swaying trees as he yearns to join in on the sailing. Vavrina's quick brushstrokes bring to life the choppy water and billowing sail in this small bright painting. New Zealand is the location for this Vavrina waterfall. This tropical scene is from Vavrina's "Blue Period".
The undulating brushstrokes make you almost feel the cool evening breeze over the water and the sand. A newspaper article and photo of Malaga, Spain inspired Vavrina's version of this old seaport. Vavrina leaned more towards Realism than Impressionism in this large sized painting. The annual boat races and parades are popular Florida attractions. Vavrina catches the movement of the wind in the sails in this colorful acrylic on linen painting. Vavrina loves the view out his window across the lake with the sparkling fountain and homes on the other side. Vavrina's many trips to the Hong Kong area produced this painting. Vavrina's love of sailing and his many trips to the Mediterranean are evident in this painting. Charles Ortega was Vavrina's friend and painter-laureate of Italy. This over-sized painting was done in remembrance to Ortega, after his visit to Vavrina's studio. They had a joint show with their friend Gerard Valtier in Naples, FL Vavrina's rendition of this southern French harbor is colorful and lively This lighter palette painting, of a Hong Kong park, shows the diversity in Vavrina's renditions Just a light chop makes for perfect sailing Vavrina catches the sun's glow through the sail in this quiet harbor scene. Vavrina's use of complementary colours, blue and orange, works well in this waterscene This island off the coast of Portugal, seen on one of Vavrina's trips, is the setting for this painting Vavrina is familiar with the feeling of catching the wind just right in your sail to make for a day of lively boating. Vavrina's studies at the Hong Kong Academy of Fine Art, allowed him to paint many sights of the area Vavrina's love for sailboat racing is evident in this depiction of the starting point Getting back into the harbor before the storm is essential for sailors. Trying to get away from the pack, and have some relaxing sail room, is sometimes hard to do Vavrina blends this Hong Kong cityscape with it's reflection, by use of strong contrasting lines Vavrina uses strong contrasting colors, in this evening tropical scene, to give warmth and life to this painting
